Happy Days Are Here Again

OK, last time I was really irate because I was all hot and sh!t, but now I got an A/C thanks to my coworker, and things are back to normal again. So, just because, I'm uploading a song off of one of the first records (outside of my kiddie storybook records) that I ever owned. This one has special significance because my older brother gave it to me as a gift, and I never realized how awesome (and raer!) it really was until years later. So enjoy the theme from Shaft In Africa:

Lift with the legs

You know what? Moving sucks. Especially when you got a sh!t-ton of records like me. And when you have to do it in the muggy NY summertime. On top of it all, they got the windows in my place boarded up cause someone cut a hole in the backyard fence. Seriously people, what...the...f*ck! Why wouldn't you just patch the hole in the fence instead of relegating yourself to live in a sweatbox? And to top it all off, the boyfriend of my floormate put the damn boards back on after I took them off! Bitch - you don't even live here and have to suffer in this god forsaken heatwave just so your lady - who has a separate and secure entrance - can have some peace of mind that no one will steal her boom box. I'm all for safety, but not at the expense of MY comfort. People are so f*cking stupid sometimes.

Whip Appeal

So the last week or so, there has been this amazing thread over at the Low-Bee message board about 'playable soul' - i.e. uptempo funky soul that you can play out at a party. There was soooo much good stuff that I had to share a track that I posted. The group: Manchild. The album: Feel The Phuff. The guitarist: Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. Yes, that Babyface. He's 3rd from the left on the top row in the above picture. This was, as far as I've been able to find out, his first group and there is very little info on them. Even Discogs has no info on them. But suffice to say, they got S-O-U-L. Check out his guitar work on this diddy:
